I was gifted a great head of hair. 'My crowning glory’ as my mother always says. But hair growth doesn’t have borders, and I have always had fair downy facial hair.
Up until two years ago, I was so conscious of ‘my problem’ that I wouldn’t sit with my back to a window, if you have facial hair, you will know what I mean. Over the years I have tried everything to manage it - electrolysis, laser, waxing, sugaring threading, phials of urea, creams and potions and pills.
Thankfully, I reached a point where I began to talk about it and all of a sudden, the problem didn’t seem so bad. For years I thought waxing was the best thing ever. I'd wait for weeks until the hair on my legs and bikini line would grow back and then go through the grueling process of being ripped to shreds. I quite literally felt like a plucked chicken once the job was done.
It was not until a friend recommended Clodagh in Abbey Laser Clinic that my dread of hair removal began to change. The concept of laser was foreign to me initially and I presumed it would take ages and really hurt. On the contrary the experience is far less painful than waxing. You don't get all the messy gross strips hanging off you and you really don’t feel like a plucked birdie!
Clodagh is such a fantastic professional laser specialist that the minute you walk through her door you immediately feel relaxed. She's the type of therapist who's easy going and down to earth but has years of experience so you know you're in fantastic hands. She tells me, "You'll just feel a small almost  heat like sensation but it only lasts a microsecond." She was right but the sensation is so quick and it's over in a jiffy.
The really cool thing with laser is that after a  few treatments your hair really does start to disappear, I even get it done above my lip. For years I got waxing done on this area but it would really aggravate me that you had to wait for ages for the hairs to grow back again before you could get it waxed. But the brilliant thing about laser therapy is you can shave or cut the hairs mid session so you technically live you're life hair free and the regrowth is barely there. My sister's used to call me Natasha because of the hairy tash but since meeting Clodagh I'm smooth as they come.
Laser will change your love life too ladies, I can't recommend Clodagh and Abbey Laser Clinic enough.
